New Pedals and Shoes Released From Diamondback
We make a point of designing bikes for every rider, and this approach has carried over: we now have pedals for every cyclist.
We’ve leveraged our supply-chain and manufacturing experience to secure the best materials and factories available, and we’re excited to be able to offer these pedals to the public. They’re available now at Amazon.
Our new pedals follow the same names as the bikes that inspired them. They all feature sealed bearings and CNC’d ChroMo spindles, for strength and reliability.
The Trace pedal is a dual sport model that can be used with any shoe, either clipped in or flat-soled. You can clip in for longer rides and commutes, or use the platform side with regular shoes for cruising around the neighborhood.
Our new Overdrive mountain bike pedal is SPD-compatible and weighs in at only 295 grams. This puts it solidly among the lightest pedals in its price range. With positive cleat engagement and great mud-shedding properties, it’s pretty hard to outdo the Overdrive pedal:
Last and certainly not least are our new road pedals, the Century and Century Elite. Compatible with the popular three-bolt Look platform, both pedals are great options for all road cyclists. Both have a comfortable seven degrees of float, and the aforementioned sealed bearings and CNC’d chromoly spindle. The Century Elite has best-in-class weight, with a thermoplastic composite body.
We are also premiering four men’s shoe models this year: two road versions, one mountain shoe, and a dual sport model for commuting. Designed around a last that’s optimized for a North American foot, they all fit great and offer features not found at their price point.
The Overdrive MTB shoe ticks all the boxes: it’s breathable and light, has a solid three strap Velcro closure system, and is compatible with two-bolt SPD cleats. The TPU lugged sole offers plenty of traction and is toe-spike ready.
The solid Overdrive MTB shoe:
The Trace Dual Sport is as versatile as a shoe can get. Designed with everyday commuters in mind, it also performs well as a MTB shoe. The styling of the suede upper is subdued enough that you don’t feel like you have to take it off as soon as you get to work, and the sole is grippy without being too aggressive.
For road cyclists, we’re debuting two shoes: the Century and the Century Elite. Both are made from lightweight synthetic leather and breathable mesh. They are compatible with three-bolt Look and SPD-SL cleats, and are vented throughout. The Century has a three-strap Velcro closure system and a composite sole protected by TPU walk pads. The Century Elite steps it up by replacing the top strap with a ratcheting microlock buckle.

We also have shoes for women riders:
The Airen road shoe is a worthy companion to its namesake, our popular women’s road bike. A synthetic leather upper allows it to breathe, and its three-strap closure system offers security free of hot spots. The outsole is rigid composite, giving you the efficient power transfer necessary for road riding. TPU walk pads allow you to walk without feeling like you’re on ice, and the whole shoe is easy to care for. Compatible with both three-bolt Look and SPD pedals, the Airen is a welcome addition to any rider’s gear. Buy the Airen now.
For mountain bikers, we offer the Lux shoe. Made to withstand the elements, this shoe is functional without being clunky or merely utilitarian. Features include reinforced toe caps and heel cups, a breathable suede and PU leather upper, three strap closure, and a tough TPU sole with plenty of traction for tricky trail sections. Compatible with SPD cleats, the Lux is a solid mountain shoe with plenty of bang for the buck. Purchase the Lux here.
We didn’t forget commuters and casual riders either. The Calico multi-sport shoe is versatile: it’s a flat-soled shoe that can accept SPD cleats. For flat pedal cruising or clipped into more efficient pedals, it’s up to you. The suede and breathable mesh upper uses a conventional lace closure, and the toe and heel are reinforced for durability. With a look that doesn’t scream “cycling shoe,” the Calico is a great option for all-day bike adventures around town. Get the Calico here.
Diamondback is excited about these new products and there are a lot more in the works. We’ll keep you updated because what we’ve seen so far looks sharp.
